Tom Lyes from Today’s Conveyancer spoke to Stuart Young from Property Log Book, Angela Hesketh, Director and Property Head at Jackson Lees and Maria Lati, Partner and Head of Residential Property at Grant Saw to get their views on improving the home buying and selling process.
Although many of us understand the concept of log books, and there are various organisations in the sector including the Government, NAEA, Law Society and the Home Buying and Selling Group, arguing about the need of the document. It appears that the momentum for the use of these in the sector will continue to grow.
Creating a log book for a property now, that sits with the property forever, will help future sales of the property, so when the client comes to sell the property again there is a full history from the previous purchase, which the conveyancer can use. The Property Log Book (PLB) will also help home owners to better manage and run their homes, helping to maintain the value in their greatest asset.
